Smart Sensor Group

The Smart Sensor Group is affiliated with several prestigious research platforms, including the Henan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Sensing and Decision Making in Food and Medicine, the Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Precision Sensing for Grain Information, and the Henan Provincial University Engineering Research Center for Manufacturing Automation. We are committed to innovative research in biosensors, gas sensors, flexible wearable sensors, and microfluidic chips, addressing critical needs in food safety, healthcare, and embodied intelligence. Our focus lies in developing intelligent sensing technologies and devices with high sensitivity, selectivity, and rapid response.

The team has led over 20 national and provincial-level projects and 10+ industry collaborations. We have published 100+ high-quality papers in top international journals such as npj Flexible Electronics, Small, Journal of Materials Science & Technology, Talanta, Applied Surface Science, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, and IEEE Sensors Journal, obtained 10 authorized invention patents, and received 4 provincial-level science and technology awards. The group comprises 6 PhD holders, including 1 doctoral supervisor and 2 master's supervisors.

Research Directions

1. Biosensors: Developing high-performance biosensors based on nanomaterials, organic electrochemical transistors, and biochips for food quality testing, health diagnostics, and environmental monitoring.

2. Gas Sensors: Designing novel sensors using metal oxide semiconductors, conductive polymers, and optical principles for toxic VOC detection, air quality monitoring, and industrial process control.

3. Flexible Wearable Sensors: Innovating flexible wearable sensors with soft electronics, textile electronics, and biocompatible materials for health monitoring, embodied intelligent robots, and motion recognition.

4. Microfluidic Chips: Advancing paper-based, droplet-based, and organ-on-chip microfluidic systems for biological sample pretreatment, rapid detection, and precision medicine.

Guided by the principles of "Innovation, Pragmatism, Collaboration, and Win-Win," we aim to contribute to national priorities and public health by developing cutting-edge sensor technologies for food security and medical advancements.
