4.Brief Introduction of the Supervisor

Shijie Zhang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at Henan University of Technology. He was born in October 1984 and received his Doctorate in Control Science and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in April 2012. He is a member of the Chinese Association of Automation and serves as a council member of the Henan Association of Automation. He is also recognized as a Young Backbone Teacher at Henan University of Technology.

Dr. Zhang has published over 30 research papers in renowned domestic and international journals such as International Journal of Control, Journal of Materials Science & Technology, Journal of Control Theory and Applications, International Journal of Robotics and Automation, Science China: Information Sciences, Journal of Astronautics, and Acta Automatica Sinica, with 16 of them indexed by SCI or EI. He has been awarded a Science and Technology Progress Award by Henan Province.

He has led several research projects, including one Henan Provincial Science and Technology Tackling Project, one Key Natural Science Project from the Department of Education of Henan Province, one project funded by the Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and two projects under the universitys Scientific and Technological Innovation Talent Program. In addition, he has undertaken more than ten industry-academic collaborative projects. As a key contributor, he has participated in three projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and three National 863 Program projects. He has also published a professional textbook titled Industrial Robot Control Technology.

Dr. Zhangs research mainly focuses on robotic and nonlinear control systems, with emphasis on: (1) Autonomous navigation and motion control of mobile robots in complex environments; (2) Visual servoing-based robot control technologies; (3) Control techniques for robots based on omnidirectional drive systems and parametric design methods.
